Libya suspends the implementation of Gender Equality Agreement

The Libyan Transitional Council of Ministers headed by Abdelhamid Dbeibah has suspended the execution of an agreement with the United Nations on Gender Equality

The choice was assumed the night before International Women’s Rights Day at an administration meeting last Sunday.

As indicated by the authority proclamation, the suspension was taken “as a precautionary measure considering the contention of a portion of its articles with the arrangements of Islamic sharia (regulation).”

Nonetheless, Houriya Tourmal, the Minister of State for Women’s Affairs, who has been generally condemned by the Islamists, made it clear last October when the understanding was marked that “public regulation outweighs everything else in case of a logical inconsistency.

This has step ignited far reaching contention among Libyans and fears that this could go against Libyan regulation and regulations, as well as strict qualities.

Another administration was confirmed before parliament last Thursday and its chief Fathi Bachagha is attempting to expel the officeholder leader in Tripoli.

As Libya faces a significant institutional emergency, Prime Minister Dbeibah, who has been taken out from office by parliament, is increasing determination to help his prominence so he can remain in power.
